Imaging Software

Finishing your images is a crucial step in the workflow. We’ve auditioned an array of applications for use in tandem with the SlideSnap and here are our findings.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

An excellent all around swiss army knife of imaging. Lightroom is a powerful way to organize and adjust your images. It is nondestructive, so you can always undo any changes. Almost any modification can be applied to an entire batch. With built in tethering, excellent ( albeit manual ) spot / dust removal, and cross platform compatibility, we couldn’t recommend it more for your SlideSnap-ing. More info.

Tethered Shooting

Shoot your slides with your camera tethered to your computer for the best experience (if your camera supports it). This allows you to see the full resolution on a large computer screen immediately after it is captured. Also, some tethering apps allow you to remotely adjust camera settings as well.
Sofortbild (Nikon and Mac only)
Lightroom (Nikon and Canon ; Mac and PC)
NKRemote : (Windows and Nikon ) (Recommended by our friends at Photo Gift World)
DSLR Remote Pro : (Canon and Mac)

DIYPhotoBits.com Camera Control (Nikon and PC only) ( Not recommended, clunky. )
DCamCapture (Nikon and Windows only)
DSLr Remote Pro (Canon and Mac)

If there are any other tethering apps that I haven’t mentioned here that you find reliable, please let me know.
