Updating the Slidesnap Firmware

The SlideSnap Pro’s control uses an “Arduino Uno” or an “Arduino Duemilanove” for it’s brain. It’s USB port is available from the lefthand side of the control panel.

Before you can upload the firmware to your machine, you must first install the Arduino development application to your computer.

1 : For Windows, follow steps 1 through 5 here ( http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windows#toc4 )

For Mac, follow steps 1 through 9 here ( http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/MacOSX )

2 : Download the latest SlideSnap Pro firmware ( Arduino sketch ) from our Software page.

3: Unzip the file that you’ve downloaded and double click on the file labeled ”Slidesnap_Pro_Vx_x.pde” (x_x being the version number). This should launch your Arduino application. If it does not, you will need to copy the folder to your Arduino sketches folder and manually launch the Arduino application. You should now be able to access the firmware / sketch in your File menu under “Sketches”.

4 : Now, from the “File” menu in the Arduino application, choose “Upload to board”. It should say “Done uploading.” at the bottom of the window after a few moments.
